India Community Development Service Society (ICDSS)

We aim to establish a society where rights and entitlements for the vulnerable in Karnataka.
"Registered as a Society in 1983, ICDSS was started by a group of social workers with the primary objective to eradicate poverty and facilitate the processes to uplift or improve the lives of the urban poor, rural poor, persons in need and vulnerable to different forms of neglect, stigma and discrimination. They believed in supporting the beneficiaries’, especially those living below the poverty line and low income groups, to access to opportunities in the following manner: - Sensitization on various issues related to their welfare and improvement of lives - To support them to come out of their poverty levels - Linkages/ referrals to social entitlements - Capacity building programs ICDSS also works with different Government Department and offices, especially those in infrastructure related offices, and works with them to streamline various operations. This results in not only in better utilization of Government resources and benefits to the citizens.

Our Programs
Urban Homeless
Growing number of urban homeless due to migration from villages and towns, leading to individuals and families living on the street, facing hunger, disease, threats, abuse, lack of dignity and respect. Direct interaction with beneficiaries, ability to handle any type of contingencies even with a small team, good team cooperation and spirit, leadership qualities


Skill Development for Youth
National level - max population is in the working age group, need to provide professionally conducted income friendly vocational course for large youth base from low income families. Direct interaction with beneficiaries, capable to doing multiple type of work related to implementation of programmes, right from field work to placement

Water and Sanitation
Lack of proper water and sanitation infrastructure, lack of proper payment of water bills, wastage of water, lack of proper water utilization resources. Collection of arrears, streamlining billing cycle ensures adequate water and sanitation infrastructure In sensitized slum communities, reduction in water usage, proper usage of water among different stakeholders - schools, colleges and slum communities
78th Independence Day Celebration at India Community Development Service Society
The 78th Independence Day of India is a significant occasion that offers a great opportunity for the India Community Development Service Society (ICDSS) to organize various activities and events in its SUH Night shelters situated at good shed Road shelter and S.R.Nagara BBMP East Zone Shelters.The flag hoisting ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Krishnappa (CAO) BBMP West Zone, Mr. Bheemsen Gadlkar (Upparpete PS) and Dr. Ramachandrappa HT from India Community Development Service Society grace the occasion with the national anthem along with Shelter residents. A cultural program was conducted by the staffs and residents of the shelters and sweet distribution (Kahara bath, keshari bath, Sweets) has been distributed to all the residents. We coney our sincere thanks and gratitude to Upparpete PS, Cotton Pete Police Station ,Bengaluru and Our Respected Dr. Ramachandrappa H T for contribution towards success of this program.


Celebration of World AIDS Day : KSAPS & ICDSS
KSAPS (Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society) celebrates World AIDS Day every year to raise awareness and promote understanding of HIV/AIDS. Their events typically include health talks, awareness programs, and rallies to educate the community about the prevention, treatment, and management of HIV/AIDS ¹. The celebrations was inaugurated by Karnataka Health Minister Dr. Dinesh Gundu Rao (MP) and various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, community leaders, and people living with HIV/AIDS. KSAPS also uses this opportunity to launch new initiatives, campaigns, and programs to combat HIV/AIDS in the state.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration at Night Shelters
Celebration of Constitution Day !!!!
On dated 18-09-2023 under the guidance of Dr. Ramachandrappa H T we celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi in our 6 night shelters (Goodshed Road-2, Ram Mandira, Upparpete - 1, SR Nagar 1& 2, Kodigehalli-2) of India Community Development Services Society (ICDSS),all the shelter residents and staffs was involved setting up an idol of Lord Ganesha, offering prayers, performing rituals and having prasadam.It's heartwarming to such celebrations are taking place in night shelters, as it can bring a sense of community and spirituality to those who may be facing challenging circumstances. Ganesh Chaturthi is a time for unity, devotion, and seeking blessings for a better future, and celebrating it in a night shelter demonstrates the inclusive and resilient spirit of the festival.On behalf of ICDSS Family we wish you all a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!!!!!
On Constitution Day i.e.15-09-2023 under the initiative of GoK (Government of Karnataka) Govt. of Karnataka, it's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and reflect upon the principles that our great nation, India, was built upon. The Constitution of India is not just a legal document; it's the backbone of our democracy and a symbol of our unity in diversity. To be a part of this historic moment i.e. to read out preamble at one place and one time, virtually or physically under the guidance of Dr. Ramachandrappa H T our staffs of ICDSS (India Community Development Service Society) and residents of night shelters, let us come together to read out the preamble and reaffirm our commitment to the values enshrined in it.
